In
the tradition of continuous improvements and responding
to market needs, Horiba is introducing more enabling features
to the XGT-5000. In 2004, Horiba is offering multi-size
chamber options, and value-added software to obtain thickness
measurements. Both innovations enable the scientist to adapt
XGT-5000 EDXRF technology to many forensics applications
that typically require unique form factors and penetrating
X-rays analysis. With Horiba’s highly efficient and ultra-narrow
X-Ray Guide Tube (XGT), 10 µm resolution (spot size)
is achieved along with elemental mapping at speeds up to
50 times faster than other XRF instruments in the market
place. Key features of the XGT-5000 also include minimal
sample pre-treatment, non-destructive analysis, elemental
analysis mapping under atmospheric pressure. With the detectable
range of chemical analysis from Sodium (Na) to Uranium (92),
the XGT-5000 can measure samples containing water or quickly
analyze highly precious materials without damaging the sample
- such previously work that was not possible with Electron
Probe Micro Analyzer (EPMA).
The XGT-5000 Desktop X-Ray Analytical Microscope was selected
by R&D Magazine’s 100 Award as “one of the most technologically
significant products introduced into the market place”.
Designed in a compact desktop configuration, the XGT-5000
is an ideal analytical instrument well suited for the space
efficient laboratory.
